
Tirta Gangga is a famous tourist destination in Bali, and is an ancient cultural heritage with a characteristic in the form of a water palace, from the fusion of Chinese and Balinese architecture and this park has a series of ponds filled with holy water from natural springs. Every corner of the pond in Tirta Gangga Water Park displays alluring visuals and this tourist attraction also provides tranquility for visitors, thus making this place very ideal for reflection and escaping from the hustle and bustle of daily life, especially coupled with statues and small bridges that add to the visual appeal of the park.

Tirta Gangga comes from two words, namely Tirta and Ganga. Where the word Tirta means holy water, while Ganga is the name of a river in India whose water is purified. So Tirta Gangga means holy water from the Ganges river. This is a form of respect given to Hindu people around the world. The construction process of the Tirta Gangga Water Park began in 1948 by the King of Karangasem, Anak Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem, with the main purpose of being a place of recreation and stopover for the royal family and royal guests who came to Bali. Therefore, various arrangements are made as attractive and beautiful as possible to see. However, in 1963, this park was damaged due to the eruption of Mount Agung which is the highest mountain on the island of Bali. Later the park was rebuilt and restored. The park is about 1.2 hectares which stretches from west to east, and there are three levels of buildings in the Tirta Gangga Water Park :

Tirta Gangga Water Park is located in Ababi Village, Abang District, Karangasem-Bali Regency. It only takes approximately 20 minutes from Amapura City, If you are departing from Kuta, Sanur or Denpasar then you need about 2.5 hours of travel time by car, and if you depart from Ubud, you need about 2 hours of travel.
