Jati Luwih Rice Terrace is a tourist destination in Bali famous with the beautiful rice terrace unfolding from the foot of mountain until the coastal side. Jatiluwih is located about 700 meters above sea level in the Penebel district of the Tabanan regency. You will find the largest and most picturesque expanse of paddies in Bali.

Jatiluwih Rice Terrace is the namesake upload village in West Bali are most famous for their dramatic and exotic landscape. The cool highlands and the breathtaking scenery of this village at the foot of Mount Batukaru makes for wonderful photo opportunities, and serves as a soothing retreat away from the island’s crowded south.

Once UNESCO Cultural heritage Site candidate, the Jatiluwih rice terrace comprise over 600 hectares of nice fields that follow the following topography of Batukaru mountain range. These are maintained by traditional water management cooperative known as subak., which dates back to the 9th century. The cooperative itself eventually won recognition as a dominant factor in Bali’s cultural landscape entry on the heritage list.

Jatiluwih also keep the unique religious ceremony attraction which is famous know as Patirtaan in Petail Temple on Wednesday Kliwon Ugu (Based on Balinese Calender). The local residents believe that Petail Temple is worship center of the Hyang Widhi Wasa (the God) agriculture power. Beside of Petail Temple, there is also Pucak Rsi Temple is located in this area.
